   Dr. Todd Scott

Dr. Todd Scott is a talented veterinary surgeon who started his career in a mixed animal practice in Wainwright. He joined the staff of Crestwood in 2001 and became a partner in 2004. Todd has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and was certified to perform TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) procedures in 2003.

Outside of the clinic Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and twin daughters on their very busy farm. He has four dogs, Lexi, Paris and Vegas, who are boxers and Carly, a French Bulldog.  The family also has two cats called Mr. Snuggles and Bebe. Todd is an accomplished horseman and a passionate golfer.

   Dr. Mary Machum

Dr. Mary Machum always knew she wanted to be a small animal vet, but put her ambition on hold to study commerce and pursue a career in business during her twenties. In 1982, she decided it was time to return to university, first to study sciences and then veterinary medicine. She started working at Crestwood in 1982 as a volunteer, joined the staff as a veterinarian after graduation from OVC in 1991, and became a partner in 1992.

Mary has a particular interest in animal behavior and handles most of the centre's behavioral consultations. She also likes internal medicine. She has served as a board member for the Edmonton Humane Society and the veterinary representative on the City of Edmonton Animal Control Advisory Board.

Mary was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She moved to Edmonton with her family when she was sixteen. She has one child named Scott, two dogs named Tessie and Danny Boy, both Dandie Dinmont terriers, and one three legged cat named Tippy. Mary is also a lifelong horse person, and spends as much time as possible exploring the river valley trails with her horse Ginger Snap.

Doug has been a full-time veterinarian at Crestwood since his graduation in 2005. His various areas of expertise include ultrasonagraphy, endoscopy, reproduction and all aspects of small animal surgery and medicine.

Doug was born and raised in Beaumont, Alberta and now lives in Edmonton with his wife, Kerri and two sons, Liam and Caleb. The couple have a Golden Retriever named Maddie, a cat named Mozart and a Bullmastiff named Mocha. A member of the Theriogenology Society, Doug is the former treasurer for EASAV and is on the advisory committee for the animal control board.

JDr. Pat Kubik

Pat moved from Guelph, Ontario and has been working at our clinic since September 2010. Pat and his wife Sarah, who is also a veterinarian, enjoy spending time with their son Henry and their three pets Sherman, a rescued hound shepherd cross, and two cats Hank and Donnie.

Pat has a great sense of humor and enjoys spending time as a dad.

  Dr. Lisa Gruber

 Dr. Gruber starting working at Crestwood in February 2014 and she looks forward to meeting you and your pets.

Lisa grew up on a farm outside of Edmonton where she developed a love for animals, and from an early age, knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

She completed a pre-veterinary program at Red Deer College and transferred to the University of Alberta to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Lisa was accepted into the University of Melbourne's Veterinary Medicine program and moved to Australia in 2005. She graduated in 2008 and spent nearly five years working in a busy small animal practice.

Lisa has spent the last year traveling with her husband in Asia and Europe. A particular highlight of her trip included spending three months volunteering at a sanctuary for street dogs in Sri Lanka. This sanctuary is a refuge to over six hundred animals and provides basic pet care in villages through a community outreach program.


 

Dr. Andrea Pellegrino

Dr. Pellegrino graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and enjoys the multi-faceted nature of small animal medicine having a special interest in neurology and orthopedic surgery. Over the past several years, Dr. Pellegrino has volunteered her time to several spay, neuter, and wellness clinics throughout northern Saskatchewan and was fortunate enough to work with Veterinarians Without Borders in Puerto Natales, Chile in 2012.

Andrea grew up travelling between Calgary, Alberta and Penticton, British Columbia. Before she pursued a career in veterinary medicine, she was heavily involved in research, but found her passion lay in animal care.

In her free time Andrea enjoys sewing and quilting and stays active participating in several sports including soccer, yoga and running. She looks forward to getting to know you and your beloved four legged friends!

Dr. Waugh graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and is excited to start her career as a small animal veterinarian at Crestwood. Dr.Waugh has a special interest in opthalmology, nutrition, and feline medicine. But she also enjoys the hands on skills required of soft tissue surgery.

Taryn grew up in Nanaimo, BC, and she stayed close to home to complete a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at Vancouver Island University. Following a move to Saskatoon, Taryn began graduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan, and shortly after defending her thesis began training as a veterinarian.

In her spare time, Taryn enjoys being active. She particularly enjoys cycling and playing squash with her husband, Riley. She also loves being in the kitchen creating delicious meals and desserts to share with her friends and family.

Jodie graduated as an RVT from Lakeland College in 2005 and has been working at the Crestwood Veterinary Centre ever since. She is also the clinic's office manager, but continues to do her regular duties as a Registered Veterinary Technician as well. She has two cats named Gradie and Bean, two dogs named Willow and Pippin and a horse named Roddy.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Deanna started working at Crestwood as a student and stayed on as a Registered AHT when she graduated from NAIT in 1996. She married her childhood sweetheart Deni and they have two children. They share their household with family pet Pixie, a Goldendoodle.

  Cheryl


Registered Veterinary Technician

Cheryl graduated from Lakeland College with her AHT designation in 1989. She has been a member of the Crestwood Veterinary Centre team for the last ten years. She is married to Darvin and they have 2 teenage children.

They also have two pugs named Lucy and Bobbie, a bearded dragon named Tank and a skink named Titan.

Nanette


Registered Veterinary Technician

Nanette decided to make a career change to allow her to do something she really loved, and graduated from NAIT as an AHT in 2001.

She is married to Howi and they have a love affair with Rhodesian Ridgebacks. The couple have two, Kisura and Malaika. They have also rescued a very handsome ginger tabby named Obi.

  Penny

Registered Veterinary Technician, Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner

Penny fell in love with Crestwood Veterinary Centre after her five week placement as a NAIT AHT practicum student in 2007. She continued to work with the Crestwood team as an Industry Representative for a time, then returned as a full time Registered Animal Health Technician in September, 2009.

Penny received her certification in Canine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee Certification Program in June 2011 and has developed a thriving rehabilitation program at the clinic. She treats a variety of patients with neurologic issues, geriatrics, and high level agility athletes.

As a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, Penny is also working towards her designation as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP). Pain management in a passion as she believes that no animal deserves to be in pain.

Penny is a 2014-2015 Treasurer of the Alberta Association of Animal Health Technologists (AAAHT). Her personal interests include travel with her husband Paul, equine massage, dressage, travel and spending time with her two dogs Duke and Emmy as well as her Andalusian horse Florencia.

  Berkley

Registered Veterinary Technician

Berkley graduated from NAIT's AHT program in 2009 and started working at Crestwood in January 2010. She has two Labrador Retrievers named Rascal and Autumn as well as a very sweet cat named Nala and a horse named Tessler.

In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding and traveling. j

Leanna

Registered Veterinary Technician

Leanna graduated from NAIT in 2007. She has been an AHT at the clinic since January 2008. She shares her home with various pugs from her breeding program as well as an occasional rescue. She is heavily involved in the breeding program at Crestwood as well.

Leanna spends her free time breeding and showing her pugs and has produced the Top Winning Pug of All Time in Canada.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Shannon graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2012 and completed her 8 week practicum at Crestwood Veterinary Centre before joining our team as a full time RAHT in May.

Shannon enjoys backpacking, running and mountain biking. She shares her home with three dogs, Paul, Shiloh and Fizzgig.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Brandi graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in the spring of 2010. She joined the Crestwood Veterinary team in March 2013. She shares her home with two dogs; a Boston Terrier cross named Axle, and a Boxer cross named Mila.

She enjoys playing softball in the summer.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Ashley started working at Crestwood Veterinary Centre as a Kennel Attendant in 2011 and has since completed the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT. She has a very handsome Husky/Shepherd Cross named Jacob.

Ashley enjoys traveling and hiking in her free time.

Melissa was originally from Manitoba and moved to Alberta to attend N.A.I.T's Registered Veterinary Technician program. She graduated the R.V.T. program in 2016 and started with us at Crestwood shortly after. Melissa has two cats named Shady and Gee that she loves very much and in her free time she enjoys traveling, skiing, camping, and other outdoor activities.

Receptionist

Jodi has been a part time receptionist at the clinic since 2002. She has 3 boys involved in sports and a husband who travels for work so she is always on the go. In her spare time Jodi plays organized ball, and also makes country and primitive home-made crafts.

She has a very busy household full of family and her very cherished pets.

Receptionist

Karen is a part time receptionist and started with Crestwood in 2004. Karen and her husband Kelly have 3 boys who are very involved in sports. They share their home with their rescue border collie Teeko.

Karen enjoys golfing in the summer and curls in the winter.

Receptionist

Joanne is a part time receptionist and has been at Crestwood since 1992. She has two grown up children and lives with her husband Brent. They have a pug beagle cross named Monster and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Major.

Joanne enjoys riding, golfing and traveling.

Pat has been full time receptionist since the beginning of 2008 and has been a veterinary clinic receptionist for over 30 years. She has two dogs Ryoko and Lilly and has recently added a new addition, a collie mix called Muppet. She also has a cat named Annie.

Jessica is a full time receptionist and has been a member of the reception team since August 2009. She started with Crestwood shortly after graduating from the Veterinary Administrative Assistant program at NAIT.

She enjoys drawing and spending time with her dog Ollie and her two chinchillas Squirrel and Moose.

Emily graduated from N.A.I.T.'s Veterinary Medical Assistant program in May of 2013 and has been working at Crestwood ever since she completed her pracitcum here.

Cassidy started out as Kennel staff at Crestwood Vet and since has become Tech Assistant with us. She has traveled throughout Australia and South East Asia. Cassidy loves her miniature Dachshund Snoopy and her new puppy Delilah.

Kennel Attendant

Tokaj will be attending St.George's University for Veterinary School in January 2018. Tokaj started off volunteering at Crestwood Veterinary Centre and joined the Kennel Staff team full time in December of 2011.

She loves skiing and tumbling in her spare time.

Megan is currently at N.A.I.T completing the R.V.T program and she plans to apply for veterinary college in the future. She is interested in pursuing small animal and exotics medicine. She is from Newfoundland and has been living in Edmonton since 2012.

In her spare time, Megan plays in a band, and spends lots of time with her pets. She currently has a cat named Chairman Meow, a ferret named Pudding, a golden gecko named Kiwi, and two tarantulas named Waffles and Noodles, as well as some tropical fish.
